How to
Become a Real Estate Salesperson
The real estate salesperson is one who is licensed to work in real estate under a licensed broker. The broker will supervise and be responsible for your training and sales activity. You work for them. They are the boss.
In Missouri you have to be licensed to sell real estate for a broker. To obtain a license, Missouri Law requires you to do the following things:

Take and pass a 48 hour pre-exam salespersons school before taking the
test. After passing the test, you will need to take a three day (24
hour) Missouri Real Estate Practice Course before applying for your
license. You should apply for
your schooling as soon as possible to assure you get a spot in the class you
want.

Take and pass the Missouri Real Estate Exam. This is a two part exam.
The National portion has 100 questions and you must score at least 75% .
The Missouri portion has 40 questions and you must score at least 75% on this portion as well. You can call and apply to take the test sometime
during the school.

Apply and be accepted by a licensed Real Estate Broker. You must have the Broker sign your
application.
The real estate exam is offered Monday through Friday at the Daily Testing Centers in Jefferson City, Springfield, Kansas City and St. Louis. The fee
for the test is $55 and you receive you test results the same day before you leave the Center. You must call ahead to make an appointment to take the test. No walk-ins.
The fee for the pre-exam school is $345 and the materials are $40.
The fee for the Missouri Real Estate Practice Course will be $150, which will
include the materials. The course materials will be ready for you to pick up on the first day of class.
